How I found my own way of Designing

My journey began in engineering and architecture, then shifted into a creative business built around handmade floral jewellery and decorative pieces. After seven years of running that business and leading a small team, a move to the Netherlands became the turning point that led me into digital design. Today, I bring analytical thinking, creative exploration, hands-on product design, and leadership experience together to shape experiences people can see, use, feel, and remember.

  • My design journey began with Engineering

Process Design · Understanding systems, shaping solutions

My first chapter in design wasn’t about websites or visual identities. It began with a Master’s degree in Process Design and Chemical Engineering, where I learned to understand how things work, break complex problems into smaller pieces, and look for better ways to bring them together. After several years in engineering, that way of thinking stayed with me—even as my curiosity led me towards more creative fields.

The medium has changed, but I still begin in the same place: understanding the problem before designing the solution.

  • I wanted to design something People could step into

Architecture · Giving ideas a tangible, human dimension

Engineering taught me to think in systems, but I wanted to see my ideas take shape—and become part of someone’s everyday life. That pull led me back to university to study Architecture. Through space, form and materials, I began exploring how design could be seen, used and felt. I was no longer thinking only about how something worked, but how people would experience it.

Architecture taught me to look beyond the object or the space—to the person experiencing it.

  • Designing for people, Inspired by Nature: an idea that grew into a team of seven

My own business · From handmade creations to a shared vision · 2016–2023

My love of flowers and plants found its way into design. I began turning natural flowers and leaves into handmade jewellery and decorative pieces—something people could see, use and feel. What started as a creative idea became a business I ran from 2016 to 2023, growing into a small team of six. I shaped the products, the brand and the content, worked with customers, and managed the everyday realities of running a business. As the team grew, I also learned to listen, delegate and bring different strengths together around a shared goal.

Bringing ideas to life taught me that design is also about people: those who experience it, and those who help create it.

  • Relocating to a new country opened A New Chapter in my design journey

Digital design · A new direction, built on everything before it

When I moved to the Netherlands, I chose to take my design journey in a new direction. I wanted to bring together the analytical thinking I had developed in engineering, the human perspective I had explored through architecture, and the hands-on experience of building my own business. Digital design was where I wanted to connect them. I studied UX/UI Design and later Digital Transformation Design to develop that direction further. Rather than leaving one field behind for another, I was choosing how to combine them—and shape my own way of designing.

I wasn’t leaving my earlier experiences behind. I was finding a new way to bring them together.

What I do now?!

Today, I work across website design and development, content creation, social media management, and floral design and decoration. Across these different mediums, I bring the same curiosity: understanding the idea, the people it’s for, and how to bring it to life. I’m still learning and exploring, and I’m happiest when a project lets me connect something I already know with something new.
